The XXIII Winter Olympic Games started just a few days ago, and we are already getting some great news about the achievements of our athletes at the Olympic Games. Alexander Krushelnitsky and Anastasia Bryzgalova, who compete for the Olympic Athletes from Russia, have reached the semifinals in the mixed double competition in curling!
We are especially pleased because these athletes come from St. Petersburg and are members of the Adamant curling team. They have already competed successfully in all major national and international championships. St. Petersburg is rightfully proud of its athletes.
In the group tournament, our team ranked third, having won four out of seven matches.
In the semifinals, they will face the Swiss team that took the second place with five wins at the group stage.
The second semifinals will be between the group tournament leader, the team of Canada, and the winner of the additional match between Norway and China.
Semifinals will be held on February 12, and the Olympic final and the third-place match will take place on February 13.
Let us wish our athletes the best of luck as the tournament continues!
